History
Louise Solomon's Will: 12 August 1852
Louise Solomon was the wife of Honore Solomon (born 1799, died 1867, buried at Wikwemikong, ON). Honore's first wife was Marie Ogimokwe or Mijasnokwe. Louise was his second wife. She married Honore on 14 June 1851 and had been married first to Michael Eagle, known as Rastoul. (Louise was also known as "The Widow Rastoul"). She reports in her will that her maiden name is Laronde.
According to the writings of Father Paquin, S.J., Honore Solomon's lineage "was traced to a certain Ezechiel Solomon, a fur trader mentioned in connection with the conspiracy of Pontiac".
The will reproduced below was copied by hand from what appears to be a newspaper story. The name of the newspaper and date of the article are unknown.
ANCIENT INDIAN WILL FURNISHES INTERESTING DATA

FORMER CHIEF'S POSSESSIONS
DISTRIBUTED BY HIS WIDOW
Those to whom Indian antiquities have an appeal, will read with keen interest the following old will, drawn up in 1852 at Killarney, then known as Jebaonaning or Shibahwananing, as it is sometimes spelled. It was made by Louise Laronde, whose first husband was Michael Eagle, known as Rastoul. Upon the latter's demise, she became the wife of one named Solomon.

The will disposing of her treasured possessions reads as follows:

Shibahwananing 12th August 1852

I Madame Solomon, maiden name Louise Laronde, being in the enjoyment of good health and also being sound in my mind, do give and bequeath, unto my children according to the wish of the late Michael Eagle (Rastoul) one canvas tent, and one frying pan; to Francis Rastoul, two brass kettles and one copper kettle, also one iron pot and one red box. To Joseph Rastoul, one brass kettle, one large tin kettle and one bake kettle, also one red box. To wife of Michael Eagle (Rastoul Jr.) one red box. These things comprise the property of the late Michael Rastoul and according to his request and dying wish I give them to my children.
